About

Hello friends! My name is Kate Snow, and I'm a Southern California-based watercolor artist. I specialize in photorealistic pop culture inspired pieces for gallery curations and private collectors.

It's a joy to take a pop culture reference that people connect with and turn it into a painting. I get inspired when I see a character from a movie or a subject that ignites a spark in my brain and makes me think, "I have to paint that!," especially if it looks like a fun challenge. When someone feels drawn to one of my pieces and buys it because they want to see it on their wall everyday, it makes me so happy to share that connection with my customers.

I sell my paintings and prints here in my store, but I've also shown at Gallery 1988, Spoke Art, Pow! Wow!, and Bergamot Station in Santa Monica. My work has also been published in Evolve Magazine and My Neighbor Hayao: Art Inspired by the Films of Miyazaki.

Watercolor is my fascination, but I also have an extensive background in sewing; I've been a professional seamstress for 20 years creating costumes for dance and theater groups. In addition to sewing, fiber arts also play a large role in my life. I've sold cross stitch pieces in multiple gallery shows featuring classic quotes from movies like Waiting for Guffman and Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

Most recently, I've expanded my passion for painting large scale art pieces by partnering with my artist friend to create Bright Side Murals. We work with city goverments, communities, and private citizens to produce commissioned murals and public art pieces for cities all over Southern California.

Interested in a commissioned art piece? Large or small, I love collaborating with people to create custom work. Reach out via Contact to inquire about commission opportunities.

Thank you for visiting my page, I love sharing my art with you!
